07 July 2007:
Typhoon Man-yi became the first Western Pacific 2007 storm to threaten landfall in Japan. On the 12th July, Man-yi was approaching as a category 4 typhoon, though the forecast at landfall was category 1.

13 July 2007:
The JMA reported that Man-yi was the strongest July typhoon ever recorded. Usually, strong typhoons occur later in the season.

15 September 2007:
Typhoon Nari made landfall in South Korea bringing the heaviest rainfall recorded since 1923, killing at least 11 people with more missing.

05 September 2007:
As a result of the approach of Typhoon Fitow, the Bullet train (Tokaido Shinkansen) was suspended, and the Tomei and Chuo highways were both closed prior to landfall.

13 July 2007:
Yomiuri (Japanese newspaper) reports indicate that around 100,000 homes were affected by a blackout in Okinawa following the storm. There were also reports of flooding, 3 injuries and disruption of transport systems.

03 August 2007:
The FDMA reported that there were around 25 casualties from Typhoon Usagi, and over a hundred properties were flooded - several were completely destroyed.

06 September 2007:
According to the FDMA, early indications suggest several deaths and severe injuries with larger numbers of light injuries. On the property front, nearly 500 houses were flooded with only a small number of dwellings completely destroyed.
