04 September 2007:
Hurricane Felix made landfall near the Nicaragua/Honduran border as a category 4 storm with windspeeds of over 250 km/h. There were fears that as the storm hit the mountains, the rainfall would have a similar devastating effect to that of Hurricane Mitch in 1998.
