Benfield, the world’s leading independent reinsurance and risk intermediary, announced today an innovative enhancement to its client servicing capabilities with the launch of an automated reinsurer A.M. Best rating change notification service.
Through an agreement with A.M. Best, the oldest and most widely recognized rating agency dedicated to the insurance industry, Benfield has been given programming access to A.M. Best Company’s electronic ratings file enabling it to provide real-time reinsurer A.M. Best rating change notifications to its U.S. clients.
Benfield is the first reinsurance intermediary to notify its clients about reinsurer rating changes in real-time and correlate the impact to their specific reinsurance contracts. Utilizing direct, live data from A.M. Best and leveraging the power of its proprietary Global Reinsurance Distribution System (GRiDS), Benfield will deliver immediate notifications to clients affected by reinsurer rating changes. The automatic notifications will detail the impacted reinsurance contracts that are serviced by Benfield Inc.
“Many of our clients depend on Benfield to help keep them informed of developments within the industry and this fully automated rating change notification service helps us achieve that goal. This is another first in our long history of delivering innovative products and services to our clients,” said Kevin Campion, Executive Vice President and head of the US Benfield ReMetrics team.
