John Coldman - Chairman
John has been Chairman of Benfield since 1996 and was part of the management team that led the buy-out of Benfield in 1988. He joined the group in 1985 from Greig Fester Group Ltd and became managing director in 1986, being appointed to the Board in the same year. John was Deputy Chairman of Lloyd's from 2001 to 2006 and was Chairman of BRIT Insurance Holdings PLC from 1996 to 2000.

Grahame Chilton - Chief Executive Officer
Since Grahame's appointment as Group Chief Executive in 1996 Benfield has expanded significantly through a combination of organic growth and strategic transactions - including the acquisitions of Greig Fester Group Ltd, Bates Turner Intermediaries LLC and E W Blanch Holdings, Inc – seeing revenue increase from £50 million to some £300 million today.Part of the management team that led the buy-out of Benfield in 1988, Grahame has been a Director since 1986 having first joined the group in 1982 from then Marsh subsidiary, CT Bowring. During his years as a broker Grahame has traded in non-marine, marine and aviation reinsurance and direct retrocession business

John Whiter - Chief Financial Officer
John joined Benfield in 1994 as Group Finance Director (now Chief Financial Officer).  He was previously with accountancy firm Neville Russell (now Mazars), becoming a Partner in 1976.  John was Managing Partner of the London operation from 1988 to 1991 and Senior Partner from 1991 to 1994.  An insurance industry specialist, John has advised on corporate acquisitions, disposals, financing and strategic planning.

Dominic Christian - Director
Dominic is the Chief Executive Officer of Benfield's International Division.  He joined the Group Board of Benfield in September 2004, having previously led the Global Specialty Unit of the Company.  Dominic is the Chief Executive Officer of Benfield Ltd the FSA regulated entity of the Group.  In addition he sits on the Board of a number of locally domiciled companies.
He has nearly 20 years experience in the reinsurance industry, having started his career in the mid-1980s at specialist broker, JK Buckenham.  Dominic joined Greig Fester in 1989, was promoted to lead the Retrocession team there in 1993 and became a Director in 1994.  He led the Non-Marine Retrocession team at Benfield since its merger with Greig Fester in 1997 until 2004, during that time the team have developed a market-leading position, representing over 70 customers from 16 countries.  Dominic has an honours degree in History from the University of East Anglia.

Paul Karon - Director
Paul Karon is Chairman of Benfield's US Division and a Director of Benfield Group Limited. Prior to this appointment, he was Chief Executive Officer. Paul has over 20 years of experience in reinsurance and property risk management, and has held the positions of President and Director of Benfield Greig LLC, as well as Executive Vice President of E.W. Blanch.
Paul holds a bachelor's degree from the University of St. Thomas and is a graduate of the Executive Risk Management Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Paul is a member of the Young Presidents' Organization and serves on the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities.

Francis Maude - Deputy Chairman and Senior Non-Executive Director
A former UK Government minister and a barrister by training, Francis is Benfield's Deputy Chairman and Senior Non-Executive Director and has been a Non-Executive Director since 1999.  First elected to the UK Parliament in 1983, since 1985 Francis has served as Minister for Corporate and Consumer Affairs at the Department of Trade and Industry, Minister of State at the Foreign Office and Financial Secretary to the Treasury. Returning to Parliament in 1997, he was Shadow Chancellor from 1998 to 2000, Shadow Foreign Secretary from 2000 to 2001 and has been Chairman of the Conservative Party since May 2005.  Francis was a director of Salomon Brothers from 1992 to 1993, a Non-Executive Director of ASDA Group plc from 1992 to 1999 and a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley & Co Ltd from 1993 to 1997.  He is Chairman of Prestbury Holdings PLC.

Andrew Fisher - Non-Executive Director
A City financier by background, Andrew is Executive Chairman of JS&P Limited, Wealth Managers prior to that he was Chief Executive of Cox Insurance Holdings Plc.  He has also been Group Chief Executive of  CPP, one of Europe's leading providers of assistance products and services and was the Group Chief Executive of Coutts Group the Wealth Management business of Royal Bank of Scotland, incorporating Coutts & Co. Coutts International, Nat West Private Bank, Nat West Stockbrokers and the RBS Private Banks. During his earlier career Andrew was a senior advisor to one of the world's largest private equity group, the Carlyle Group, and a Partner in the Consultancy practice of Coopers and Lybrand.

Paul Roy - Non-Executive Director
Paul is a founding partner of NewSmith Capital Partners, an independent investment management and corporate advisory firm. He was formerly Co-President of Global Markets and Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch & Co.  He joined Merrill Lynch in 1995 following the company's merger with Smith New Court, where he was Chief Executive Officer.  Whilst at Merrill Lynch he was responsible for Investment Banking, Debt and Equity Markets worldwide and was a member of the Executive Management Committee.

Keith Harris - Non-Executive Director
Keith became a Non-Executive Director of Benfield in 1999. He is Chairman of Seymour Pierce Limited and has several other major board appointments. Keith was Chief Executive of HSBC Investment Bank plc from 1994 to 1999 and, prior to that, Managing Director of Apax Partners Ltd. He spent his early years at Morgan Grenfell in London and New York, where he was President of Morgan Grenfell Inc, and later became Managing Director and Head of International Corporate Finance at Drexel Burnham Lambert.

Frank Wilkinson - Non-Executive Director
With more than four decades of experience, Frank is a mainstay in the reinsurance industry, where he enjoyed a successful career with E.W. Blanch Holdings Inc. (EWB) from 1969 until his retirement in 2000. During his tenure, Frank became an influential member of EWB’s leadership team, contributing significantly to the company’s success. Serving first as Executive Vice President and later as Vice Chairman, Frank joined the company’s Board of Directors in 1993. Frank was also Chairman of Paragon Strategic Solutions Inc., a member company of Benfield Group Ltd. Today, he is an outside director of the United Fire Group and Hub International, chairing the Compensation Committee of both organizations.
Frank received a B.A. from Davidson College (1961), an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (1965) and a C.P.C.U. designation in 1964. He remains actively involved on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations.
